Scarborough newspapers - a rich source of history

Local newspapers have been recording events for morethan 150 years. Scarborough and other Yorkshire libraries have good collections of the old papers, often on microfilm. Readers can be booked and research combined with a good deal of entertainment. Here are a few items from Victorian editions of a newspaper called the Scarborough Gazette. Life was a little different then.
