The Mayor has received a letter, dated December 17th, from the Scarborough men at the front, as follows:
"To the Mayor and inhabitants of Scarborough. It is with great regret we have heard of the awful outrage committed on Scarborough, and the loss of life of non-combatants. We wish to extend our warm sympathy to all those who have suffered in any way. I have written this on behalf of the following local men who are serving with the 56th Company A.S.C.
The writer of the letter is R.O. Vasey, and other signatures are those of C.L. Marson, J Crabtree, F Heeley, E.T. White, J.W. Rines, G.F. Turner, and J Hornby
